Making It with Chris G.

Chris G. has been in the Music Business since 2006 as a concert promoter, artist manager, and booking agent. “Making It” is not about being on top of the charts, winning mainstream awards, or having millions of social media followers. Though those things are nice, that’s a very small percentage of the industry. “Making It” is about having conversations with people that do what they love full time, instead of being stuck with a career they hate. Throughout his journey, Chris has met many inspiring individuals who have in his eyes “made it” and who have an abundant amount of stories and wisdom that should be shared with the world of aspiring creatives, musicians, actors, athletes, and entrepreneurs. The objective of this podcast is to educate and motivate individuals by sharing stories of people who are “making it” every day.

Alex Bowen is a senior Talent Buyer for Live Nation Entertainment in New Orleans, LA where he books the Fillmore NOLA. His journey began promoting shows independently and even owning a small venue. Eventually, Alex started booking the historic Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge, LA. Throughout his journey, he’s booked and promoted shows at many venues and has even managed artists such as Earphunk and the legendary George Porter Jr. In this conversation, we discuss what it takes to be a successful Talent Buyer, running a venue, managing artists, and much more.

Danielle Reiss is a Music Publicist and Music Business Masters student at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. She moved to Nashville, TN in 2016 to pursue her dream to work in the music industry with no job and no college lined up. Since then, she's been able to work numerous internships and gather experience in the industry. In September of 2020,  she got a job at the Pop-Off Agency, and a few weeks later got fired for going to a rally for President Donald Trump. I'm excited to share her story and her journey through the music business.
