Making It with Chris G.

Chris G. has been in the Music Business since 2006 as a concert promoter, artist manager, and booking agent. “Making It” is not about being on top of the charts, winning mainstream awards, or having millions of social media followers. Though those things are nice, that’s a very small percentage of the industry. “Making It” is about having conversations with people that do what they love full time, instead of being stuck with a career they hate. Throughout his journey, Chris has met many inspiring individuals who have in his eyes “made it” and who have an abundant amount of stories and wisdom that should be shared with the world of aspiring creatives, musicians, actors, athletes, and entrepreneurs. The objective of this podcast is to educate and motivate individuals by sharing stories of people who are “making it” every day.

Allison Ross is a violin player and classical musician based in Kansas where she performs with several orchestras and symphonies. Since the COVID-19 pandemic musicians have faced many challenges, and Allison broke the silence when the restrictions from one of her orchestras made it so challenging to be an orchestra performer that she decided that it was better to not play at all. She is also a music professor, gives private lessons, and is a big advocate for independent musicians to have multiple streams of revenue. In this conversation, we discuss her story with her orchestra, side hustles, making a living as a classical musician, her involvement with the Libertarian Party of Kansas, and much more.

Ivan Vargas is a Videographer and Animator whose journey has led him through the world of TV commercials, film, music, and sacrificing your dreams for family. He’s a man that always put his family first, and is even willing to put his dreams on hold. Ivan has had an amazing journey and tells some inspiring stories. His story is a total underdog story of someone that never gives up to make themselves a better human being by having an endless thirst for knowledge and self-development. From 208 to 2012 he worked with me at the Plaza Live in Orlando, FL as their Bar Manager, and has also helped me behind the scenes with many of my artists. This was such a fun conversation!
